Bartercard is unlike any other credit or debit card because you fund our card with your own goods and services...NOT CASH. Bartercard currently helps over 6,000 smart businesses in New Zealand to increase sales, customer base, cash-flow and profit. Bartercard enables member businesses to exchange goods and services with other member businesses, saving valuable cash, without having to engage in a direct swap of goods.
Bartercard New Zealand has reached a new milestone with member companies using the exchange to trade goods and services worth an unprecedented 200 million trade dollars* in the current financial year (ending 30 June).
You may remember a couple of months ago DraftFCB announced its 1000 Hours project – donating 1000 hours of its time ($200,000) to help prop up businesses in the recession. The winner of the 1000 hours is Bartercard and it’s a win that will have a knock-on effect, as the company helps small to medium-sized enterprises by facilitating a trade exchange network for effective business conduct.
The New Zealand Breakers connection has prompted Bartercard to come to the aid of the financially-troubled Christchurch Cougars.
An associate sponsor of the Breakers, Bartercard chief executive Paul Bolte said the presence of players Paul Henare and Tim Behrendorff along with former team member Paora Winitana on the Cougars roster, convinced his organisation to negotiate a naming-rights deal with the National Basketball League franchise until the end of the season. |
A Bartercard transaction is similar to a credit/debit card transaction. Members receive a plastic transaction card and an interest-free line of credit. Trade Dollars are credited to the member’s Bartercard account upon the sale of goods and services through the exchange. Members use their Bartercard transaction card to spend their credit balance or draw on their interest-free line of credit, on goods and services from any other Bartercard member.
