We joined Bartercard in 2005 to see if it would give us an edge over our local competition.

We did start off slowly, but by using the Bartercard direct mail outs as well as a couple of our own offers we were able to see an increase in trade.
As a cafe/bar we saw a number of companies start using our operation to "shout" staff and clients to an informal night our playing pool, or just watching sport and having a drink.

We now have a lot of new clients who visit us regularly, so we have seen a steady growth in our Bartercard business and an edge over our competition.

We were aware before joining of a lot of negative comments about Bartercard, however most of these comments seem to come from businesses who expected an immediate increast in new clientele. We however have found the key to increased business is to raise your own profile with our Bartercard users and stick with the programme. Our turnover with Bartercard has increated 4 times since our first year, and is all new clients.

We have also found new ways of using our dollars through the support of our trading support staff at Bartercard.
